Kristine Carter has unwittingly spent a good deal of her life outdoors. Growing up in rural Maryland and the West Virginia mountains, she hiked with her siblings through nearby woods. When she studied theatre and writing at McDaniel college in Western Maryland, she escaped whenever possible to the Catoctin Mountains.
During her Fulbright grant researching women playwrights and directors in India, she spent her breaks wandering through Himalayan foothills and along the Ganga river. While working in marketing by day and workshopping her plays by night in San Francisco, she headed up the redwoods on weekends to find her bliss. After developing chemical allergies, Kristine moved to the Santa Ana foothills where she now consciously spends more of her time in the great outdoors. You can learn more about her nature escapades with her family and dog, musings and plant-based recipes on her Instagram and Facebook blog, Kristine’s Creative Kitchen.
